Does some one know where I can find Information on the vanished Saxon Palace in Warsaw. The palace is built by August the Strong, King of Poland and elector of Saxonia. It was rebuilt in the 1800s and it was destroyed in the Second Worldwar. I have read somewhere that the City of Warsaw plans to rebuilt it, just as the neighbour of the Saxon palace: the Brühl Palace..

I recently bought a book entitled;
'Lost Treasures of Europe', published just after the 2nd World War.
There is a small section on Warsaw, with a picture of 'Castle Square' ... which says was the former Royal Castle. constructed by the Dukes of Mazovia in the XIV century, rebuilt be King Sigismund III. Is this the one ?
The book cover many countries, and many buildings & pieces of artwork that were destroyed in the war. Though many of them are churches.
There are almost 400 pictures, with a discription/or state of the building after the war.

no that isn't the same building. that is the warsaw castle, which was also destroyed in world war II, but is totally restored by the polish government. you can also read about this castle in the book we both have: leksykon zamków w polsce (page 526 - 531).

Lazienski Palace;
Krasinski Palace;
Staszic Palace;

ipflo This afternoon I have found some sites about the palace (it was a great help for me that I "discovered" the Polish name of the palace: Palac Saski or Palacu Saskiego)
If people know where I can find more information about the Saxon palace (especially the history of the building), it would be great.
